Alright, so the other day I stumbled upon this old poem or creed, whatever you wanna call it, titled “An Old World Creed” by someone named Minnie Aumonier. Sounds fancy, right? I got curious, so I decided to dig a little deeper into what this thing is all about.
First off, I tried to find out who this Minnie Aumonier person was. Turns out, she was born into some artistic family back in 1865. A long, long time ago! Apparently, she was quite the character—full of wit and passion, they say.

Next, I went on to look for the actual text of this “An Old World Creed.” I found that it starts with something like, “When the world wearies and society fails to satisfy.” Pretty deep stuff, huh? It seemed like it was about finding some sort of peace or happiness, some personal stuff, you know.
Then, I tried to figure out where this thing was originally published. It was some kind of card and also an edited version of “My Old-world Creed” which was published in Minnie’s book, this made me feel that I’m on the right way!
I also found some random stuff about gaming, like Valheim, Genshin Impact, Minecraft, and a bunch of other games. I guess someone out there was also looking up this poem and got sidetracked by video games. Happens to the best of us, I suppose.
At one point, I bumped into a Reddit post about this creed. The user, “learntheoldway,” had posted it, but there were no comments. It felt a bit lonely, like shouting into the void. But hey, at least someone else out there was interested in this old poem.
So, after all this digging around, what did I actually achieve? Well, I got a better idea of who Minnie Aumonier was and what her “An Old World Creed” was about. It wasn’t some life-changing revelation or anything, but it was a nice little trip down history lane. Plus, I got to exercise my detective skills a bit, which is always fun.
In the end, I printed out a copy of the creed for myself. I don’t know if I’ll ever actually live by it, but it’s nice to have around. A little reminder that there’s more to life than just the daily grind, you know?
That’s my little adventure with Minnie Aumonier’s “An Old World Creed.” It wasn’t anything too crazy, but I thought I’d share it with you all. Maybe it’ll spark some curiosity in you too. Who knows, you might even end up going on your own little adventure because of it. And if you do, let me know how it goes!
