Okay, so I’ve been really into this whole crossword puzzle thing lately. It’s like, my new jam. Today, I tackled this one called “Mindless Entertainment,” and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
I started off pretty strong. I found this website that had a bunch of clues and answers from different puzzles, like the Daily Celebrity and NY Times and stuff. It was a real hodgepodge of information, but I was determined to find what I needed.

I searched for “Mindless Entertainment” and started sifting through a bunch of results. There were a ton of different possibilities, like 40 or something! It was a little overwhelming, not gonna lie. I saw that this clue had been in the Universal Crossword on September 22, 2024, and also in some Chicago Sun-Times puzzle. I was like, “Okay, this is a popular one.”
I spent a good chunk of time just reading through all the different clues and answers. Some of them were super short, like only five letters, and others were longer, like ten letters. I was trying to find a pattern or something to narrow it down. And then I remembered something that I read about the crossword puzzles, which is that the completion of them is represented with different colored stars. Also, there is something called “rebus” which can be a letter, number, or symbol representing a word, or group of letters, needed to be written inside a single square. After reading this, I felt I became more familiar with the rules of the game.
I finally found the answer I was looking for after what felt like forever. I mean, I didn’t time myself, but it had to be at least… a while. Apparently, the average person spends like nine minutes and twenty-four seconds on a puzzle, and they do this over 2,192 times! That’s a lot of time spent on crosswords. I definitely spent longer than nine minutes, but hey, I got it done! And I have also learned some knowledge about the crossword puzzles.
So yeah, that’s my crossword adventure for today. It was a bit mindless, but also kinda entertaining, you know? I’m gonna keep doing these, I think. It’s a good way to kill some time and maybe learn a new word or two.
