Well, I heard the big game, that Super Bowl thing, is coming up. My grandkids, they all excited about it. They say it’s the biggest game of the year. Me? I like the food and folks getting together more than the game itself. But I do like that singing and dancing before the game. That’s the Super Bowl pregame entertainment, they call it.
Super Bowl Pregame Show
This year, seems they got some fancy folks lined up to sing. One fella, Jon Batiste, they say he’s gonna sing that national song, the “Star-Spangled Banner.” He’s from around here, Louisiana, you know. Good for him, making it big. I saw him on the TV once. Plays that piano real good.

And then there’s another one, Trombone Shorty. Now that’s a name, ain’t it? He blows that horn, the trombone. Makes a real nice sound, that boy does. Heard him play down at the fair one year. He’s gonna be there too, at the Super Bowl pregame. I reckon he’ll get folks dancing.
Who is Singing at the Super Bowl?
- Jon Batiste
- Trombone Shorty
- Lauren Daigle
- Ledisi
Then there’s this woman, Lauren Daigle. I heard my granddaughter playing her music. She’s got a powerful voice, that one. Sings them church songs. I like her voice. Good to have a little bit of everything, I suppose. You got your piano man, your horn blower, and your church singer. Sounds like a good mix to me for the Super Bowl pregame entertainment.
They say this Super Bowl is gonna be in New Orleans. That’s a lively city, always something going on. I remember going there once with my late husband. We ate some of them beignets, those little fried dough things with the sugar. Lord, they were good. I bet they’ll have plenty of those at the Super Bowl pregame. They say they also got another singer, Ledisi. I don’t know her but they say she good.
Super Bowl Entertainment
My grandkids, they’re more excited about the halftime show. They are going to have some Kendrick Lamar fella playing. I don’t know much about him, but they sure do. They keep playing his songs. It’s all that hippity-hop music. Not my cup of tea, but the young folks love it. I guess that’s what matters. They tell me all about this Super Bowl entertainment stuff.
It ain’t like the old days. We used to just have the marching bands and maybe a local choir. Now it’s all big stars and fancy lights. I suppose it’s all right. Times change. As long as everyone has a good time, that’s what counts. I’m just hoping they have some good snacks at that Super Bowl party. And they will play some good music in the Super Bowl pregame show.
I might not understand all this newfangled music, but I do like seeing folks happy. And that Super Bowl, it sure does make folks happy. Even if they ain’t from around here, they come from all over to see it. It’s good for the city, they say. Brings in lots of money. I guess that’s important too. This Super Bowl pregame entertainment seems like a big deal.
Super Bowl LIX Pregame
This Super Bowl LIX, that’s what they calling it, sounds like a big one. They got all these singers lined up, folks coming from all over. It’s gonna be a real spectacle, I reckon. And all that Super Bowl pregame entertainment, it is to get people all excited for the game, I guess.

I still don’t understand all the rules of football, but I do like seeing the players run around. And when they score a touchdown, everyone gets so excited. It’s fun to watch, even if you don’t know what’s going on. The Super Bowl is a lot like that. All the noise, all the people, all the food. And the Super Bowl pregame entertainment is just adding more to it.
I hope that Jon Batiste fella does a good job with the national anthem. It’s an important song, that one. And I hope Trombone Shorty gets everyone dancing. And that Lauren Daigle, I hope she sings a pretty song. And maybe that Kendrick Lamar fella will surprise me. Maybe I’ll even like his music. You never know. And that Ledisi, I will try to listen to her, too. This Super Bowl pregame entertainment sure has a lot of singers this time.
Well, I’m gonna go make some of my famous potato salad for the Super Bowl party. It ain’t fancy, but folks seem to like it. Maybe I’ll even watch a little bit of that Super Bowl pregame entertainment myself. It might be fun. You’re never too old to try something new, I always say.
