Well, let me tell ya, this here “nm politics with joe monahan” thing, it’s a whole heap of somethin’, alright.
New Mexico Politics, What a Mess!
I ain’t no fancy politician, mind you, but even I can see that this New Mexico politics stuff is as tangled as a ball of yarn my old cat got a hold of. Joe, he talks about it all the time. Says it’s “complex and confusin’.” He ain’t wrong, that’s for sure. Seems like nobody can agree on nothin’ these days. They fight and bicker like a bunch of hens in a henhouse.
One minute they’re hollerin’ about one thing, the next minute they’re hollerin’ about somethin’ else. And the money, oh lordy, the money! They spend it faster than a farmer spends his paycheck at the feed store. Joe, he tries to make sense of it all, ya know? He uses them “anonymous sources” he talks about. Says he knows these folks, says they got “lengthy experience”. I guess that means they’ve been around the block a few times, seen a thing or two.
- They argue ’bout taxes.
- They argue ’bout roads.
- They argue ’bout schools.
Lord, they even argue ’bout the weather sometimes, I swear! And these fellas up in Santa Fe, the ones makin’ the laws, they ain’t even gettin’ paid! Can ya believe that? How can ya expect a fella to do a good job when he ain’t even gettin’ a decent wage? It’s like askin’ a cow to give milk without feedin’ it hay.
Them Republicans and Presidents
Joe was talkin’ ’bout them Republicans the other day. Said they had a “breakthrough at the presidential level.” Now, I don’t know much ’bout presidents and such, but it sounded like a big deal. Seems like them Republicans, they finally got somethin’ they wanted. Good for them, I guess. But I tell ya, it don’t matter much to me who’s president. As long as they leave us plain folks alone, I’m happy.
Albuquerque and the Rest of New Mexico
And then there’s Albuquerque. That’s the big city, ya know. Full of hustle and bustle. Joe, he talks about Albuquerque a lot. I guess that’s where all the action is. But it ain’t just Albuquerque, it’s the whole state. From the mountains to the deserts, it’s all New Mexico. And it’s all a mess, politics-wise.
I remember back in the day, things were simpler. Folks knew each other, they helped each other out. Now, it’s all just a bunch of noise and confusion. Joe, he tries to cut through that noise. He tries to tell us what’s really goin’ on. Sometimes I understand him, sometimes I don’t. But I appreciate him tryin’. He keeps us informed, ya know? Lets us know what them politicians are up to. And that’s important, even if it is confusin’ as all get-out.
More Stories Coming, I Reckon
Joe, he’s writin’ another story, I heard. Somethin’ ’bout the “Capital Main,” whatever that is. I reckon it’ll be more ’bout politics and such. More things I probably won’t understand. But I’ll read it anyway. Gotta keep up with what’s goin’ on, even if it makes my head spin. This New Mexico politics, it ain’t for the faint of heart. But it’s our politics, and we gotta make the best of it.
So, that’s my take on this “nm politics with joe monahan” thing. It’s a mess, it’s confusing, but it’s important. And Joe, he’s doin’ his best to make sense of it all. Bless his heart.
