Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Westchester County Business Journal. It’s a paper, ya see, comes out every week. Yep, 52 times a year, they say. Folks call it Westfair too, same thing, kinda like how some folks call me by my first name and some call me by my last, ya know?
They got their office over in White Plains, place called Westfair Communications. Heard it’s a private kinda thing, not like those big ol’ companies you see on TV. Mount Kisco too, they got somethin’ there. Guess they got two places, maybe one for printin’ and one for writin’, I dunno. Anyways, they been around a while, tellin’ folks ’bout business and such.

Now, I ain’t no fancy businesswoman, but I like to know what’s goin’ on. This paper, it tells ya ’bout the shops and businesses around here, in Westchester County. Who’s openin’, who’s closin’, who’s makin’ money, who’s losin’ it. It’s important stuff, ya see, even for an old lady like me.
I reckon it’s good for the folks who run businesses too. They can see what others are doin’, get ideas, maybe even brag a little if they’re doin’ well. And if they wanna tell folks ’bout their own business, they can put an ad in the paper. That’s how they make their money, I guess, sellin’ papers and sellin’ ads.
- They got news, that’s for sure.
- They tell ya ’bout what’s happenin’ in the business world.
- They got ads, so you know what’s for sale.
This Westchester County Business Journal, it’s like a window into the money world. I can’t always understand all them fancy numbers and terms, but I get the gist of it. Like if a new supermarket is openin’, that means more jobs and cheaper groceries, right? And if a factory is closin’, that ain’t good, folks losin’ their jobs and all.
I remember when my grandpappy used to say, “Ya gotta keep yer ear to the ground to know what’s goin’ on.” Well, this paper, it’s like havin’ someone else listenin’ for ya. They go out and find the news, and then they print it all up nice and neat, so you don’t have to go runnin’ around town askin’ everyone what’s what.
It ain’t just about big businesses either. They talk about the little guys too, the mom-and-pop shops, the farmers, the folks who are just tryin’ to make a livin’. That’s important, ’cause them little guys, they’re the backbone of the community, ya know? They’re the ones who sponsor the little league teams and donate to the church bake sale.
And it ain’t always good news, mind you. Sometimes things go bad, businesses fail, people lose their money. But it’s important to know that too, so you can be prepared. Like my grandma used to say, “Forewarned is forearmed.” This paper, it helps ya be forearmed, ya see?
So, yeah, this here Westchester County Business Journal, it’s a good thing to have around. It keeps ya informed, keeps ya connected, keeps ya knowin’ what’s goin’ on in yer own backyard. And in these times, with the world changin’ so fast, it’s more important than ever to have somethin’ ya can rely on, somethin’ ya can trust, somethin’ that tells ya the truth, even if the truth ain’t always pretty.

They say it’s a truthful news source, and I reckon that’s important these days. Too much fake news goin’ around if you ask me. So, yeah, that’s what I know ‘bout the Westchester County Business Journal. It’s a paper, it’s local, and it tells ya ’bout business. What more ya need to know?
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about business has made me hungry! But you remember what I told ya, this here Westfair paper, it’s worth a read, even if you ain’t no fancy pants businessman or woman. It’s for all us folks, tryin’ to make our way in this world.
