Well, let me tell ya ’bout this National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition 2024. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like them city slickers are up to somethin’ again.
So, from what I hear, it’s a big to-do, a national competition, they say. All about that media and entertainment law stuff. You know, like who owns them songs and movies and whatnot. Copyright, they call it. Sounds like a headache to me.
They say you gotta “gear up for excellence in advocacy.” Fancy words, right? Means you gotta be good at arguin’, I reckon. Like when you’re tryin’ to get a better price for them eggs at the market. Only these folks are arguin’ ’bout legal stuff.
This ain’t some small-time thing, neither. They say near ’bout 1… somethin’ somethin’ folks was in it last year. That’s a whole lotta people fussin’ over legal papers, I tell ya.
And the big showdown, the final rounds, they was back in January, end of the month. Them city bar folks and the American College of Trial Lawyers, they put it all together. Trial lawyers, huh? Sounds like them folks on TV, always shoutin’ “Objection!”
Now, there’s another one comin’ up, this 4th National Moot Court Competition. This one’s gonna be in Bengaluru, at that Presidency University. Heard of it? Me neither. They gonna have them preliminary rounds and quarter-somethin’ rounds. Sounds like a whole lotta rounds to me.

- Preliminary rounds: That’s when they start weedin’ folks out, I guess.
- Quarter-somethin’ rounds: Gettin’ closer to the end, see?
This ain’t just any ol’ competition, mind you. It’s like that Jessup thing they talk about. The biggest one in the world, they say. Law students from all over the place, almost 700 law schools, and like 100 countries. Can you imagine? That’s a lot of folks who wanna be lawyers.
So, what do they do at this “moot court”? Well, it’s like playin’ pretend court. They give you a problem, and you gotta figure out the law and argue your case. Like a real court hearing, only nobody’s goin’ to jail. Mostly, it’s about appeals, they say, when someone didn’t like the first decision.
It’s all about analyzin’ and researchin’. Sounds like hard work to me. I’d rather be out tendin’ to my chickens. But these young folks, they seem to like it. All that arguin’ and book learnin’.
This whole thing seems like a big deal for them who wanna be lawyers. Gives ’em a chance to practice, I guess. Better than just readin’ books all day long. They get to stand up and talk and try to convince folks they’re right. Just like them politicians on TV, only maybe a bit more honest.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. A big fancy competition for future lawyers, all about media and entertainment law. Hope they figure it all out. Me? I’ll stick to my chickens and my garden. That’s a kind of law I understand – the law of nature.

November 2024, that’s when the Bengaluru thing is happenin’. Mark your calendars, if you care ’bout that sort of thing. Me? I’ll be busy gettin’ ready for winter. That’s a whole ‘nother kind of competition, fightin’ off the cold.
So, there you have it. All I know about this National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition 2024 and all that other lawyer stuff. Hope it made some kinda sense to ya. It sure was a mouthful.
