Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Michigan football, ya know? It’s like the whole dang world’s against ’em, always has been, seems like.
Michigan Wolverines, Them Fightin’ Boys
These boys, they play hard, real hard. I heard tell they call ’em the Wolverines, tough like them little critters, ain’t they? Always scrappin’ and fightin’ for every inch. And that’s what they do on that there football field, they fight for every yard.
- They got them big fellas up front, they call ’em “badass behemoths” or somethin’. Big ol’ boys, strong as oxen, pushin’ and shovin’. You ain’t gettin’ past them easy, no sir.
- And then they got them fast fellas, runnin’ like the wind. They can zip and zag and make you look silly tryin’ to catch ’em.
- And the defense? Don’t even get me started. They hit you so hard, you’ll see stars, I tell ya. They held that Washington team to just one touchdown, can you believe it? One measly touchdown!
Everybody’s After Michigan
But it ain’t just the other teams they gotta worry about. It’s like everybody’s out to get ’em. The NCAA, them big college bosses, they’re always snoopin’ around, lookin’ for somethin’ to complain about. And the Big Ten, that’s their own conference, they ain’t always friendly neither. And don’t even get me started on Ohio State. Them Buckeyes, that’s their biggest rival. They hate each other like cats and dogs. I heard they even had a big ol’ fight after one of the games, cost ’em both a hundred thousand dollars! Imagine that, a hundred thousand dollars! That’s more money than I seen in my whole life, I betcha.
Goin’ for the Big Prize
They say Michigan ain’t won a national championship since 1997. That’s a long time ago, even for an old lady like me. But this year, they say this year might be different. They’re winnin’ all their games, knockin’ down everybody in their path. They got a real good chance, they do. They gotta keep their heads down, keep fightin’, and not let all that outside noise get to ’em.
They beat up on Maryland, them Terrapins, and they gonna be the first team ever with a thousand wins, ain’t that somethin’? People keep talkin’ about this game and that game, and who they playin’ next. They talk about Ohio State all the time, that big game at the end of the season. But these boys, they just keep on winnin’, one game at a time. That’s how ya do it, ya know? One step at a time. Don’t get too cocky, don’t get too scared. Just keep on playin’ your game.
Humble and Hard-Workin’
They say these boys, they’re humble. That means they ain’t all puffed up and braggin’, even though they’re winnin’ all the time. They just keep their heads down and work hard. That’s what my pappy always told me, hard work pays off. And it seems like it’s payin’ off for these Michigan fellas.
I tell ya what, it ain’t easy bein’ a Michigan fan. It’s like the whole world’s against ya. But these boys, they’re tough. They’re resilient. They ain’t gonna back down from nobody. And that’s why I’m rootin’ for ’em. Go Blue!
Even With the Rain and All
I even heard tell they was sittin’ outside in the rain talkin’ to reporters, them football players. Can you imagine? Sittin’ there in the rain, just talkin’ about football. That shows ya how tough they are, don’t it? Rain or shine, they just keep on goin’. They runnin’ that ball, throwin’ that ball, hittin’ hard, doin’ what needs to be done. That’s Michigan football for ya.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. These Michigan boys, they’re somethin’ special. They got the whole world against ‘em, but they just keep on fightin’. And that’s why I think they got a real good chance to win it all this year. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football’s made me hungry.
