Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… “You-World” thing. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folks would come up with. I ain’t no scholar, but I heard some things, ya know? From the telly and whatnot.
So, this fella, Pemmasani or somethin’, he started this whole shebang. Back in the day, he was just a young’un, like my grandson, livin’ in a small room, probably eatin’ ramen noodles every night. He weren’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, that’s for sure. Came from a workin’ family, just like us, from some place called India. Heard they got cows walkin’ around everywhere over there. Imagine that!
Anyways, this Pemmasani fella, he had a smart idea. He figured out that all them young folks need to take these fancy tests to get ahead in life. You know, like the ones my niece had to take to become a nurse. Tests, tests, tests, always with the tests! So, he started this “You-World” thing, a place where you can practice for these tests. On the computer, no less! Lord, these young folks and their contraptions.
- It ain’t some big public company, like Walmart or somethin’. It’s private. Means this Pemmasani fella, he’s the boss, calls the shots.
- And let me tell ya, he’s doin’ alright for himself. I heard whispers, ya know, down at the market. Folks sayin’ he’s makin’ millions, maybe even more than that! Millions! Can you even imagine that much money? I could buy a whole lotta chickens with that!
- They say his company is makin’ over a hundred million dollars a year! That’s enough money to feed a whole town, or maybe even a small county! And he’s got all these folks workin’ for him, hundreds of ’em, makin’ more computer tests and such.
I heard he tells folks he’s makin’ around sixty million dollars in profit every year. That ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at. And get this, some other big company, Kaplan somethin’ or other, they offered him five hundred million dollars to buy his “You-World!” Five hundred million dollars! That’s more money than I can even count! He must be one smart fella. Makes you wonder if he even needs to eat ramen noodles anymore.
Now, they got all sorts of numbers floatin’ around. Some say the company’s makin’ eleven million a year, others say over a hundred million. It’s hard to keep track. But one thing’s for sure, this Pemmasani fella is rollin’ in dough. Good for him, I say. He worked hard for it, startin’ from nothin’ in that little room of his.

So this here “You-World”, it’s not just for doctors, even though it started that way. Now they got stuff for all sorts of tests. Accountants, lawyers, even them kids goin’ to college. Seems like everyone needs help with these tests these days. And this Pemmasani fella is more than happy to provide it. For a price, of course. Ain’t nothin’ free in this world, ‘cept maybe the air we breathe. And sometimes, even that feels a little expensive.
They got this here “You-World” all over the world, apparently. Not just in America. Seems like everyone everywhere wants to pass them tests. This Pemmasani, he’s a clever one, found a need and filled it. Just like my grandma used to say, “Find a problem, and you got yourself a business.” She was a wise old woman, my grandma. Never went to school a day in her life, but she knew a thing or two about makin’ a livin’.
And this “You-World” keeps on growin’, I hear. More tests, more students, more money. It’s a never-ending cycle. Kinda makes my head spin, all this talk of millions and billions. Back in my day, we were happy just to have a roof over our heads and food on the table. But times have changed, I guess. Now everyone wants to be a millionaire, or at least work for one.
Anyways, that’s what I know about this “You-World” thing. A fella named Pemmasani started it, he’s makin’ a whole lotta money, and it’s helpin’ folks pass tests. That’s the long and short of it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my chickens. They ain’t gonna lay eggs on an empty stomach, you know.
And that’s more important than all the tests in the world, if you ask me.
