Alright, so listen up, y’all. I heard about this thing called the Fox Entertainment Writers Incubator, sounds fancy, huh? Like hatchin’ chickens, but for folks who wanna write stories for the TV and such.
Now, from what I gather, this incubator thingy, it ain’t for just anybody. They’re lookin’ for special folks, you know? People with different ways of seein’ the world. They say “diverse voices,” but what I reckon that means is they want stories from all sorts of backgrounds. Like, not just the same old stuff you see on TV all the time. They want stories from folks who lived a little, seen a thing or two.
And get this, they ain’t just lookin’ for one type of story. They take all kinds – comedies, dramas, even them cartoons for the kids. So, whether you wanna make folks laugh, cry, or just sit there scratchin’ their heads, this incubator might be for you. But mind you, they only pick a few folks each year, so it’s gotta be tough to get in.
- They want all kinds of stories: comedy, drama, animation. That’s what I heard.
- It’s hard to get in, only a few folks get picked.
- They give you help and support, like teachin’ you the ropes. Sounds good, right?
This here Fox Writers Incubator, they don’t just leave you hangin’ once you’re in. They give you support, like teachin’ you the ropes of the writin’ business. Sounds like they got mentors and such, folks who’ve been around the block a few times and know how to get things done. They help you make your story better, like makin’ sure your cake don’t fall flat.
Now, I also heard somethin’ about Netflix, that movie place, bein’ involved. Seems they’re givin’ some money to help out writers with disabilities. That’s mighty kind of them, I reckon. They give ’em money and help ’em connect with the right people in the business. Forty thousand dollars, they say! That’s a whole lotta money, enough to buy a new tractor, maybe two!
I ain’t sure exactly how long this incubator program lasts, but it sounds like it’s a good chunk of time. Long enough to really learn the ropes and get your story in good shape. They help you become a real writer, not just some scribbler in a corner.

They picked four folks for this thing in 2024. And I think they pick four or five just about every year. I saw some names, HaJ and Allison Jackson, for example. Sounds like good folks, probably got some interestin’ stories to tell. I bet they were happy as clams to get picked, and nervous as long-tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs too.
They got some rules and stuff, of course. You gotta apply and all that. They probably want to see some of your writin’ samples, make sure you ain’t just makin’ things up as you go. And they probably got deadlines and such, so you gotta be on the ball. Can’t be dilly-dallyin’ around like a one-legged cow in tall grass.
So, if you got a story burnin’ inside you, and you think you got what it takes, maybe look into this Fox Writers Incubator thing. It ain’t gonna be easy, but nothin’ worthwhile ever is. Remember what my old pappy used to say, “If it was easy, everyone would be doin’ it”. And if you do get in, well, don’t forget where you came from. Come on back and tell us all about it. We’ll be waitin’ with a pot of coffee and a plate of cookies.
In short, this Fox Entertainment Writers Incubator is a program to help new writers get started in the TV and movie business. They are looking for people with unique perspectives and stories to tell. They offer support, training, and even money to help these writers succeed. It sounds like a pretty good deal, if you can get in.
