Alright, so you wanna know about this Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons and what party she’s with, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t that simple. This ain’t like pickin’ between them red and blue candies at the store, ya know?
First off, they say her election and all them council folks, it’s “non-partisan.” Non-partisan! What in tarnation does that even mean? Sounds like fancy talk for “we don’t wanna tell ya who we really are,” if you ask me. They say it means there ain’t no party stuff on the ballot. So, you don’t see no “Democrat” or “Republican” next to her name. Makes it harder for folks like us to figure out who’s who, I reckon.
Now, Lisa, she’s been on the City Council for a good long while, like 13 years or somethin’. That’s a heap of time sittin’ in them meetings, listenin’ to folks argue, I bet. And then, she decided she wanted to be the mayor, the big cheese, ya know? And she won! Folks voted for her, so she must be doin’ somethin’ right, or at least they think she is.
But this “non-partisan” thing, it still bugs me. See, back in my day, everyone knew who was what. You were either with this bunch or that bunch. Now, they all try to be in the middle, and it gets confusing. Makes you wonder who’s pullin’ the strings behind the scenes, ya know? Who’s whisperin’ in their ears?
- They elected her mayor, Lisa Fitzgibbons.
- Along with her, some other council folks got elected too, like Patrick “Sean” Dugan, Brent BeDillon, and Becca Romo.
- They all started their jobs in December.
So, when it comes to Lisa’s politics, it’s kinda like guessin’ how many beans are in a jar. You can look at her, listen to what she says, see what she does, but you ain’t never gonna know for sure unless she tells you straight out, and even then, you gotta wonder if they’re tellin’ the whole truth. Politicians, they’re a slippery bunch, always tryin’ to please everyone.

I heard tell she’s been dealin’ with city stuff for a long time. Thirteen years on the council, that’s what they say. That’s a lot of meetin’s and talkin’ and such. Must know her way around City Hall pretty good by now. And folks voted for her to be mayor, so they must trust her to get things done. But trustin’ a politician is like trustin’ a stray cat, sometimes they’re friendly, sometimes they scratch ya.
So, what’s her party? Nobody really knows for sure, ’cause it ain’t on the ballot. They call it “non-partisan,” like I said, but that don’t tell ya much. You gotta look at what she does, what she says, and who she hangs out with. Maybe then you can get a clue. But even then, it’s just guessin’ mostly. Politics, it ain’t never been straightforwards, always a bit murky, like a muddy creek after a rainstorm.
Maybe she’s one of them independents. You know, the ones who say they don’t belong to nobody. Or maybe she leans one way or the other but don’t wanna say it out loud. Who knows? The important thing, I reckon, is whether she’s doin’ right by the folks who voted for her. Whether she’s fixin’ the roads, keepin’ the town safe, and not wastin’ all our money. That’s what really matters, not some fancy party label.
So, there you have it. The lowdown on Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons and her political… well, whatever you wanna call it. It ain’t easy to figure out, and maybe that’s the way they like it. Keeps us guessin’, keeps us on our toes. But don’t you worry, us country folk, we’re pretty good at seein’ through the fluff. We can tell a good egg from a bad one, even if it takes a while.
