Alright, listen up, young’uns. The world’s gone plumb crazy, ain’t it? Like a chicken with its head cut off, runnin’ around in circles. So, how do you keep your wits about ya when everything’s fallin’ apart? Lemme tell ya, it ain’t rocket science.

First off, you gotta get a grip on what you can control. See, there’s a whole lotta stuff out there that’s just gonna happen, no matter how much you fuss and fret. Like the weather, or what that fool down the road decides to do. Can’t change it, so why waste your energy? Focus on what’s right in front of ya, what you can actually do something about. That’s where your power is.
You gotta take care of yourself, too. Like feedin’ the chickens and waterin’ the garden. If you don’t, things go to pot real quick. That means eatin’ decent food, gettin’ enough sleep, and movin’ your body a bit. Don’t gotta run a marathon, just get out there and walk, dig in the dirt, whatever makes you feel alive. And don’t forget your mind. Read a book, talk to a friend, do somethin’ that makes your brain work. Just like a rusty old tractor, you gotta keep everything oiled up and runnin’ smooth.
- Eat good, real food. Not that processed garbage.
- Get some sleep. Your body needs it.
- Move around. Don’t be a couch potato.
- Keep your mind sharp. Read, talk, learn.
Now, about them folks out there… the ones that make you wanna pull your hair out? Well, you can’t control them either. But you can control how you react to ’em. Don’t let ’em drag you down into their mud puddle. Take a deep breath, count to ten, and walk away if you have to. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just keep your mouth shut and let ’em blabber on. It ain’t worth the fight.
And speaking of fightin’, don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself, but pick your battles. Some things are worth fightin’ for, others ain’t. You gotta know the difference. And if you do decide to fight, fight fair and don’t stoop to their level. That’s how you keep your self-respect.
This fella, Harden, I heard he teaches folks how to give it their all, all the time. 100 percent, he says. Well, that sounds about right. If you’re gonna do somethin’, do it right. Don’t half-ass it. Whether it’s workin’ in the fields, cookin’ dinner, or just talkin’ to your neighbor, give it your best shot. That’s how you build a life you can be proud of.

And he talks about believin’ in yourself. That’s important too. If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? You gotta be your own biggest cheerleader. Don’t let those doubts and fears creep in and take over. Tell yourself you’re strong, you’re capable, and you can handle whatever life throws your way. And you know what? You probably can.
Harden wrote a book about stayin’ sane, I hear. Controllin’ the controllables, he calls it. Sounds like he’s got his head screwed on straight. And that’s what it all comes down to, really. Focusin’ on what you can control, takin’ care of yourself, and believin’ in yourself. That’s how you stay sane in this crazy world. It ain’t easy, but it’s worth it.
So go on, get out there and live your life. Don’t let the craziness get you down. You’re stronger than you think, and you’ve got what it takes to make it through. Just remember what I told ya, and you’ll be alright.
