So, I had this idea to make something about the “21st Century Breakdown World Tour”, you know, to mark down all the things that happened. I mean, this century is totally a mess, and I thought, why not put it all together?
First off, I started gathering info. I dug through all sorts of stuff – online articles, books, whatever I could find about what’s been going down since 2001. It was kind of a pain, honestly, but I wanted to get it right. It’s the first century of the 3rd millennium. The rise of a global economy and Third World consumerism marked the beginning of the century.

Then, I started putting it all in order. Like, I made this timeline. Started with January 1, 2001, ’cause, you know, that’s when the century kicked off. I listed everything important that happened, big or small. Like, on January 15, Wikipedia was launched. President Joseph Estrada of the Philippines was forced out of office.
Next, I got into organizing the mess. I wanted to show how crazy things have been, so I grouped stuff under different themes. I even added some stuff about military operations, like when American and ISAF forces were clearing out caves.
Here’s what I did to keep track of things:
- Timeline: This was my backbone, seriously. It helped me see the order of events, what happened when.
- Themes: I grouped events under different topics. It made everything easier to understand.
- Notes: I jotted down notes as I went along, just random thoughts and stuff. It was pretty messy, but it helped.
Putting it all together was kind of therapeutic, to be honest. Seeing it all laid out like that, it’s like, wow, we’ve been through a lot. And I guess that’s what I wanted to show with this project. It’s not just a list of events, it’s like, a reflection of our times, you know?
Anyway, that’s pretty much it. It was a lot of work, but I think it turned out okay. It’s my way of making sense of this crazy century we’re living in.
